Increase in coffee price

Dear Espresso Fans,

We would like to give you an overview of why coffee prices are currently rising so sharply:

Crop failures – Climate change, droughts, and extreme weather conditions in coffee-growing countries are reducing harvests, especially for Arabica.

High demand – Global coffee consumption is steadily increasing, while supply remains limited.

Speculation – Financial markets are driving prices even higher. Over the past year, Arabica prices have risen by 120%, and Robusta by 80%.

Logistics issues – Rising transport costs, overloaded ports, and disrupted supply chains are complicating global trade.

Artificial scarcity – Some raw coffee traders are deliberately withholding stock in anticipation of further price increases.Small roasters under pressure – While large companies have secured long-term contracts, smaller roasters are struggling with high purchasing costs and difficulties in sourcing raw coffee.

China’s influence – Chinese importers are increasingly buying up entire harvests, for example in Uganda, further reducing global supply.

Exchange rate US-Dollar/Euro – Since raw coffee is traded in US dollars, a weak euro leads to higher purchasing costs for European roasters.

Despite these challenges, our roasters remain committed to their high-quality standards – premium coffee without compromise.

Our price adjustments are a direct result of these market conditions and are by no means an arbitrary decision.

We hope for a price correction, but market relief is not expected before the end of 2025. As soon as the situation improves, we will lower our prices accordingly.

Thank you for your understanding!
