Caffè Martella – A Secret Among Connoisseurs
The Martella family has worked for generations as baristas and roasters for leading Italian cafés before becoming independent a few years ago. The family’s story began in the 1940s when Azeglio Martella opened a grocery store selling coffee in the Castelli Romani region. Later, he established the first roasting workshop in Ciampino, where his passion and talent quickly led him to success.
Today, his experience and passion have been passed down through the generations. Though still a small company, the Martella family continues to uphold tradition, roasting blends by hand using only high-quality raw materials. This dedication to quality is at the heart of Martella’s success: careful bean selection, meticulous roasting, and high-quality blends.
To bring out the best qualities of each bean variety, each type is roasted separately and slowly (between 12 and 25 minutes) in a rotating drum roaster. This ensures the ideal roasting degree for optimal results. The process is completed with air cooling, careful blending, and precise packaging.
